Mrs. John M. (Fannie Geraldine Snell) Patterson, compiler of the scrapbook, was a daughter of Boulder County miner James Snell. She worked with the Boulder Daily Camera newspaper for a decade before transferring to the Fort Collins Express (per her wedding notice from the Denver Daily News on 2 December 1903, which contains photos of her and her husband).
